About me

I am Aavar Lamichhane, a 10th grade sophomore at John H. Guyer High School. I was born and raised in Denton, Texas. I also spent a few years at Columbia, Missouri. I am interested in blending AI into the field of medicine and aspire to be an AI-aware medical professional. I am passionate about using AI and related technology to improve medical practices and patient care.

Activities and Interests

  • Health Clinic Volunteer

I am actively volunteering at the Himalaya Health Clinic, a medical clinic in Euless, Texas, on Sundays. As a volunteer, I help doctors and patients at the clinic in all kinds of ways. For example, I help enrolling patients by taking their height, weight, and sometimes blood pressure. At the clinic, I have worked with about 1,000 patients.

  • Web Development

Recently I have gotten interested in web technology and web development. After creating this website, with the help of AI (i.e., vibe coding), I am inspired to learn more about web technologies and web development. I am now interested in creating meaningful websites that will have a positive impact on the world and add value to others.

  • Research

I believe that there is a tremendous potential in the future for AI to be used in medicine and improve patient care. I am always interested in researching and exploring these topics. When I meet with computer science or AI professionals and healthcare professionals, I try to learn more about the challenges they face and how AI can help address them.

  • Interacting with People

I enjoy interacting with both friends and strangers. I have found that interacting with other people creates opportunities for meaningful connections and conversations. I am always eager to meet new people and learn from their experiences.

Education

Schools I Attended

Nepal

Both of my parents are from Nepal and we follow a lot of Nepali culture and traditions in our daily lives. In 2023, I visited several places in Nepal, including my mom's hometown, Hetauda, and my dad's hometown, Gorkha. I stayed there for about 3 months and explored lots of new places. I also met several family members I had never met before. When I returned to America after 3 months, I brought a lot of memories and experiences with me. While I am an American citizen, I am connected to Nepal, Nepali people, and the rich Nepali culture.

Experiences

Here are some of my recent experiences that I have had in the past few years. I have been able to learn a lot from these experiences and they have helped me grow as a person. I am always looking for new experiences and opportunities to learn and grow.

Recent Experiences

  • AI Research

In the summer of 2026 I had a wonderful experience at the University of Missouri at St. Louis working with associate professor Dr. Badri Adhikari. While working with him, I learned many technologies, including AI, writing process reports, and web development. We also had a lot of intriguing discussions about AI and its applications in the medical field.

  • Blood Drive Volunteer

On April 19th, the Youth Medical Alliance hosted a blood drive in which about 80 people donated blood for people in need. I was a volunteer at the blood drive and helped with finding donors, the registration process, guided donors to the donation area, certificate preparation, and assisted with post-donation care.
